University Hill’s business precinct booms

University Hill’s reputation as the business epicentre of Melbourne’s north continues with the announcement that MAB is releasing its latest commercial development – Ormond Square.

At the recent launch, MAB General Manager Richard Johnston said it is anticipated that Ormond Square will attract a range of businesses to Bundoora, including financial and legal services, private consultancies and medical practitioners.

“We have been delighted to welcome a number of medical operators and community services to University Hill recently, including City Fertility and Babtcare, providing vital facilities to the local community.

“We aim to attract a range of services to cater for the local community’s everyday needs.

“Once competed, Ormond Square will deliver 20,000 sqm of prime office space to University Hill which has the potential to add 1,300 employees to the precinct” said Mr Johnston.

Ormond Square will be ideally located within the heart of University Hill, just a one minute walk to the Town Centre and in close proximity to public transport and transport links.

“Businesses are attracted to the convenience of University Hill for a number of reasons” said Mr Johnston.

“From providing fantastic amenities for staff, including child care, medical facilities and a bustling Town Centre; to enjoying access to a growing customer base, business owners can see the potential for their operations to thrive.

“As this is our closest commercial development to University Hill’s retail and services hub, we expect strong interest”

Mr Johnston said that University Hill will continue to attract business and retail opportunities.

“We have carefully planned for the long term at University Hill” said Mr Johnston. “It is a true- mixed use development with all the facilities and amenities a local community expects.

“We are proud that some of Australia’s most prominent organisations are now based at University Hill, which has in turn, attracted a large number of small and medium sized businesses”

University Hill is currently home to approximately 2,000 residents, 1,500 employees & 100 retailers.
Designed by Watson Young Architecture, Ormond Square boasts a daring design and first class facilities such as ground floor cafe and conference centre, ample car parking and latest fibre optic technology.

Office suites range start at 48sqm and are priced from $222,180 + GST.

Construction is expected to commence in early next year and completed by early 2015.
