Uni Hill Goes Strength to Strength
Uni Hill Outlets has recorded its 2 millionth customer and has seen exceptional growth in traffic figures compared to last year. Centre Manager Marina Vitali said monthly visitor figures for April were up 19 per cent, a 25 per cent increase on April 2014.
This growth certainly demonstrates that traditional shopping is still very popular and the demand is ever present despite the rise of online shopping.
Ms Vitali said she attributed the success to the influx of popular apparel retailers since opening the outlet centre’s $20 million, 5000sqm expansion.
Michael Cutajar from Hava Kebab opened at Uni Hill Outlets in 2011 prior to the redevelopment of the centre. Since the development “the centre has gone crazy,” said Michael. “There are so many more customers, all with positive things to say about the new look centre, they just love the sports mall.”
Michael owned an additional business at Essendon DFO as well as another side business, but since the redevelopment he has sold both because demand is now so high at Uni Hill Outlets. “I am excited about the future now,” said Michael.
University Hill Outlets is part of the University Hill development which combines residential, retail and a business park in the northern suburb of Bundoora.
