MAB welcomes Western Park announcement
MAB Corporation welcomes the Victorian Government’s announcement that a multi-million dollar civic project at NewQuay, Docklands has been given the green light.
MAB Chief Operating Officer said the plans for Western Park “a sporting and community facilities hub“ is great news for NewQuay residents, workers and the wider community.
“We applaud the Government’s decision and investment” said Mr Hall.
“The western end of NewQuay was earmarked for a community and sporting facility in the City of Melbourne and Places Victoria ‘Docklands Community and Place Plan’.
“We are delighted that plans have now been announced and confirmation that construction will commence within as little as nine months.
“We look forward to seeing more detail as it becomes available” said Mr Hall.
Mr Hall added that the Western Park development supports MAB’s ongoing strategy at NewQuay.
“Over the past 12 years, MAB has delivered more than 1,400 apartments and has another 617 in construction at The Quays development which will be completed later this year” said Mr Hall.
This year, MAB launched the waterfront NewQuay Promenade development which includes a beautiful, new public park.
“Our development pipeline at NewQuay could potentially include a further 600+ apartments” said Mr Hall. “We continue to work with Docklands stakeholders to advance the ongoing masterplanning and development of NewQuay.
“MAB is very proud of the thriving community that has grown at NewQuay and has exciting, long-term plans for its continued growth and development” said Mr Hall. “Together with the delivery of Western Park, NewQuay will be a thriving, urban community just moments from Melbourne’s CBD.”
