Lifelong education at Merrifield

Expression of interest now open

An extensive range of education services
and community facilities have been planned
at Merrifield, including a mix of primary and
secondary schools – educating up to 1,000
school kids – and a community centre boasting
a kindergarten, maternal and child health
centre, adult education classrooms and space
for art and cultural activities.

MAB Project Director Matthew Planner said that
better access to lifelong education opportunities
is at the cornerstone of the Merrifield vision.

“When master planning Merrifield, we have
been clear that all age groups need to be
catered for – ranging from child care through
to tertiary education,” he said.

The Victorian Government has already
designated up to two primary schools and
a secondary school within the Merrifield
Living precinct, however the Merrifield master
plan also affords flexible opportunities for a
range of other schools, learning or training
facilities within the Merrifield City Centre and
Merrifield Business Park, providing services
to a broader demographic.
