Family Homes Built for the Future: MAB’s First Collaboration with Archier
In early April 2024, MAB celebrated the completion of its first townhouse project with awarded architect, Archier. The series of 26 homes in the Preston Crossing Oakover neighbourhood were delivered to an exceptional standard, and with settlement having taken place swiftly after completion, these breautiful homes are now being enjoyed by their new families.
When MAB approached Archier to collaborate on Preston Crossing, it was driven by an admiration of the studio’s award-winning projects, their passion for simplicity and sustainability, and an unmistakable design appeal. Having now completed the first release of Archier homes at Preston Crossing, both MAB and Archier could not be more proud of the end result.
The success of these homes is underpinned by a design that’s responsive to the needs of today’s families. A focus on functional floorplans, sustainability and thermal performance, hard-wearing natural materials, and enduring architecture has yielded future-proofed homes that provide spaces for families to grow and live better together, for longer. All electric, solar boosted and Five Star Green Star Design and As-built Certified, these are homes for tomorrow.
Importantly, the Archier townhouses, and the entire Preston Crossing project itself, illustrate how design-led, sustainable medium density housing can be successfully integrated into low-rise residential neighbourhoods without affecting the liveability or amenity of the suburb. With Melbourne, and most major cities around Australia, struggling to cope with demand for new housing, Preston Crossing is an outstanding example of delivering inner-ring housing density in a sensitive and considered manner.
With the Archier townhouses at Preston Crossing Oakover being fully sold more than nine months prior to construction completion, the demand for quality terrace homes in well connected, amenity rich areas is evident.
We now look forward to the next release of Archier townhouses at Preston Crossing, in the Stokes Penola neighbourhood – the second precinct within the project masterplan.
