Construction commenced at landmark NewQuay development
MAB Corporation has announced Brookfield Multiplex as the builder for the landmark $365 million The Quays apartment building at NewQuay in Docklands.
Construction commenced at The Quays development in February. The Quays is a podium based twin tower development with a striking facade, comprising 617 apartments.
Chief Operating Officer David Hall said that MAB is delighted to once again work with Brookfield Multiplex, after recently completing the successful HarbourOne development at NewQuay.
“The Quays will set a new benchmark at Docklands,” said Mr Hall. “We look forward to delivering outstanding quality and workmanship with the team at Brookfield Multiplex.”
Brookfield Multiplex Regional Managing Director of Construction & Development Graham Cottam said they were very pleased to be working with MAB Corporation again after the recent collaboration at HarbourOne.
“We have developed a solid relationship with MAB and demonstrated our design and construction management skills with the early completion of the previous project,” said Mr Cottam.
Completion of The Quays is anticipated in late 2013. Mr Hall said that The Quays will be one of the tallest developments at Docklands.
“This is an iconic address, offering an amazing lifestyle and vibrant social hub for residents,” said Mr Hall.
The ground floor will include a Health Club with a 25 metre swimming pool, spa, sauna, gymnasium and a yoga studio.
On level one, residents will be able to work, relax and entertain in the Residents’ Club with exclusive access to a library, business centre, private dining room and cinema lounge.
The podium will be crowned with an expansive roof top garden adjacent to a tennis court, clubhouse and barbeque facilities.
The Quays was released to the market in February 2011 and Mr Hall said that the response has been very pleasing.
“More than 70 percent of apartments have been sold,” he said. “Buyers are attracted to the waterfront location and striking architecture on offer.”
The Quays is designed by award winning architects McBride Charles Ryan.
Prices for the apartments range from $365,000 for a one bedroom to $1.2 million for a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment with a study and two car spaces.
