Remediation Works Nearing Completion

We are pleased to share the latest progress made towards completing remediation works. Since our last Community Update in September, our contractor, Enviropacific, has achieved the following milestones:

• Removal of Remediation Tent Enclosures 2 and 3 from site.
• The decommissioning of Remediation Tent Enclosure 1 is due to commence mid-October and will mark the completion of all major soil remediation works. Following these works, the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) independent auditor will commence the endorsement process following completion of remediation works.
• Groundwater investigations continue across site through a series of wells that will be drilled to establish the condition of the groundwater in the aquifers.

Code Amendment Update

Community consultation for the Code Amendment concluded on 15 October. URPS is preparing a report in response to the submissions received during the consultation process which is expected to be submitted to the Minister for Planning before the end of the year.
