Diner en Blanc comes to NewQuay
More than 1,000 stylish guests with food, wine and furniture in hand descended on NewQuay Promenade on Saturday for the second installment of Melbourne’s Dîner en Blanc.
The most chic picnic of the year is marked by its pristine all-white dress code, and sees guests join together for a mass pop-up picnic at a location that remains undisclosed until just a few hours before dinner time. Guests happily cater for themselves, from picnic baskets to table centrepieces, and come together in what organizers describe as a spirit of friendship, elegance and gallantry.
The NewQuay team at MAB worked wonders for more than 12 months in advance to turn NewQuay into the sparkling setting for this world-renowned, exclusive event, becoming only the second location in Melbourne after 2015’s Dîner en Blanc at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Dîner en Blanc originated in Paris in the 1980’s, and has since grown to be held in over 50 cities across the world.
