Team Profile Jenny Psihogios, Development Manager

Jenny Psihogios has been intrigued by buildings and architecture since childhood, and has fulfilled her passion by taking an active and influential role in deciding how iconic architecture shapes the lives of Melburnians.

“I have always been very curious about buildings, particularly how they are designed, constructed and occupied. We experience buildings and architecture every day of our lives so it is a privilege to work in an industry that impacts people’s lives in such a significant way,” says Jenny.

Having been with MAB since 2008, the past six years have seen Jenny work on a diverse and exciting range of projects.

“I have been very lucky as I have had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects at MAB. I have been involved in the development of luxury townhouses, various residential apartment towers, precinct master plans, marinas, an art gallery and more recently Monument Park at NewQuay Promenade, an integrated public art and landscape space in Docklands,” says Jenny. “Then there are the other projects such as locating Cirque du Soleil at NewQuay in 2009 and organising the NewQuay Parkland Precinct Launch in 2009 which were both very fun to be a part of.”

Currently a Development Manager in the Residential Division, what excites Jenny about her role is that it allows her to oversee the many different aspects of what goes into the creation of buildings and built forms.

“The role is all-encompassing and involves working with a group of extremely talented people from all facets of the industry to develop building projects from start to finish. I love the fact that during the course of one day I may speak to an architect, a sales agent, a lawyer, an accountant, a local resident and an electrician. There is never a dull moment.”

“I am currently working on two residential developments in NewQuay as well as a revision to the NewQuay West master plan at Docklands. The focus at the moment is trying to find ways to stand out in the Melbourne apartment crowd so we are workshopping some interesting architectural and marketing ideas with the project teams.”

With a background including Site Engineer for the Crown Promenade Hotel project, Project Engineer for the 2006 Commonwealth Games Athletes Village, one year in London as a Project Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle and a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and Construction, Jenny is passionate about design and about making a positive difference in the lives of those who live within and in close proximity to the buildings and places that impact their daily activities.

“MAB is a great place to work as it values design highly and contributes exciting architecture to the Melbourne landscape.”
