RMIT Health Sciences Moves Into University Hill Town Centre

MAB Corporation is pleased to welcome the RMIT School of Health Sciences’ practical teaching facility to its new medical/office/retail development at the multi award-winning University Hill.

MAB Corporation General Manager Richard Johnston said RMIT will lease the top two floors and part of the ground floor (totalling 2300m2) of the building on a fifteen year term.

“We’re excited such a highly regarded institution is joining us,” said Mr Johnston.

“As the new home of practical teaching for Osteopathy, Chiropractic and Chinese Medicine, RMIT’s presence demonstrates confidence in University Hill and its growing position as a highly desirable place for business and services,” he said.

RMIT Executive director, Property Services, Mr Darren McKee said he valued the synergies between MAB’s health and wellbeing precinct and the School of Health Sciences in providing an improved patient experience and higher quality building for the students enrolled in the respective courses.

“The central University Hill location will benefit students and faculty members alike as the surrounding services and amenity is outstanding,” said Mr McKee. “The proximity to RMIT’s existing campus, accessibility of the building in the town centre location, enables the University to improve engagement with the Community,” he said.

“RMIT’s local campuses have a high student population, and accordingly the retail amenity caters for that. However, University Hill’s extensive amenity caters for the entire community and has the opportunity to offer retail, cafes and restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy, bank, post office, gym, childcare and medical facilities,” said Mr Johnston.

“The move to University Hill replicates the university’s already successful CBD strategy of locating campuses in high amenity areas in order to provide an enriched student and faculty experience,” he said.

Suitable for medical, office and retail use, the building is designed to achieve a 5 star Green Star and 4.5 star NABERS rating.  It is located centrally in University Hill, with plenty of onsite car parking.

MAB Corporation is currently leasing tenancies in varying sizes up to 1075m2 and is designed to attract high quality tenants to what is the only available building of its kind north of Melbourne’s CBD.  This building caters for environmentally sustainable corporations and the State and Federal Government’s strict requirements on sustainability measures.  There is currently no other building north of the CBD that has space available designed to the same high standards.  Construction has commenced and is scheduled for completion later this year.

Complete with unparalleled amenities, technology and access to major transport arterials, University Hill provides the ideal platform for business success, now and into the future.

First class facilities are supported by a welcoming, environmentally sensitive development. Small community appeal, often lost in business parks and inner city locations, is abundant.
