Cargo opens at NewQuay

MAB Corporation welcomes Cargo to NewQuay’s popular waterfront dining precinct.

On the back of the success of their established restaurant Berth, the operators saw an opportunity to offer diners something different with their latest venture, Cargo. Incorporating casual dining and on-trend menu plus dine in and take away options, social food networks are talking positively about NewQuay’s latest addition.

MAB General Manager Nick Gray said Cargo’s arrival demonstrates the operator’s commitment to the NewQuay food scene.

The continued success of one of NewQuay’s longest established restaurants, Berth and the ongoing development of the Docklands precinct provided the operators with the confidence to open a restaurant and bar that fills a customer-lead need for casual, up-to-the-minute, well-priced dining” said Mr Gray.

Cargo’s waterfront location next to Berth on NewQuay Promenade offers diners the choice of indoor /outdoor dining with outstanding views over NewQuay and Melbourne City Marinas, Victoria Harbour and the city of Melbourne.

Co-owners of Berth and Cargo restaurants, John Scarda and Steven El-Khoury, are committed to the Docklands and believe in the area.

We’re big supporters of the Docklands and our ongoing success with Berth and continued belief in the area inspired us to open Cargo to meet the changing needs of today’s diners” said Mr Scarda. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to open another restaurant in such an outstanding, proven location” he said.

MAB Corporation currently has several retail leasing opportunities available at NewQuay, ranging in size from approximately 130m² to 240m².
