The toyotagreen Business Park Consortium – led by MAB Corporation Pty Ltd, Folkestone Limited, and Goodman Group – today announced the Sharp Corporation of Australia is the latest company to relocate to the premier business park in Port Melbourne.

Businesses already located at toyotagreen include Fuji Xerox, Ericsson, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Porter Davis Homes and J&T Knitting.

Sharp Corporation is occupying 1,292 sqm for their new office and warehouse premises, moving from South Melbourne in September 2007.

The announcement coincides with confirmation that the recently completed Testing and Modelling facility for Ericsson will soon commence operations. The building will house technical support for the company’s Asia-Pacific operations.

The majority of toyotagreen was purchased by the consortium from Toyota in 2005 where the car manufacturer has its $50 million corporate headquarters of 12,000sqm accommodating 340 employees.

toyotagreen is one of the largest business parks in Melbourne occupying approximately 20 hectares of land. It is only three kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and adjacent to the growing Docklands precinct.

MAB Corporation Development Manager Keith Tan said, “toyotagreen is well regarded as the place to do business, and will continue to experience rapid expansion over the next five years.”

An additional 6,500sqm is due for completion by the early 2008 with the balance of the estate to be developed in stages by 2012.

Throughout the toyotagreen project, the consortium has worked closely with the City of Port Philip in refining the council’s new non-residential Environmentally Sustainable Design Scorecard.

The permit issued for the Fuji Xerox building was the first permit issued in compliance with the new scorecard and the consortium plans on ensuring that all new buildings in the estate comply with this benchmark.
