Translink – MAB completes final sale in $300 million business park
MAB Corporation has sold out of the final stage of the hugely successful Translink Business Park.
Following the initial acquisition in 2000, MAB embarked on the $300 million, 75 hectare Business Park located along Keilor Park Drive, Keilor Park/Tullamarine and has attracted businesses such as Porsche, Ferguson Plarre Bakehouse, Porter Davis Homes and Lombard the Paper People. Strong demand for land within the Tullamarine area has resulted in Melbourne’s best performing industrial node said Richard Johnston Commercial and Industrial General Manager. A 6,411 sqm block that sold 6 months ago for $234sqm was resold recently for $257sqm after the sale fell over. The new purchaser is a local developer who intends to build a hi-tech office warehouse development on the site. “The biggest advantage for landlords is the lack of freehold land supply within the Tullamarine area with Melbourne Airport Business Park only holding leasehold land. This lack of supply of land will continue to assist landlords finding and retaining tenants.” said Richard. As part of the final stage of works MAB undertook the restoration of Steele Creek in conjunction with Melbourne Water, City of Brimbank and City of Hume. The redevelopment works involved the realignment and rehabilitation of Steele Creek through Brimbank The restoration of Steele Creek provides the occupiers of Translink Business Park with natural amenity and upgraded walking paths connecting the estate to the 10ha Keilor Park Botanic Gardens. |
