MAB plans $60 million business park in Port Melbourne

MAB Corporation has purchased 3.12 hectares of Crown land for $12.65 million at 12-62 Cook Street in Port Melbourne.

MAB’s General Manager Commercial & Industrial Mr Richard Johnston said, “the former VicRoads toll collection facility for the Westgate Bridge is a unique site with the unsurpassed exposure of 500 meters of frontage to the West Gate Freeway and 160,000 vehicles per day.

“The site has the potential to be the destination for a major fuel exchange with additional food offering catering for traffic travelling into the CBD.

“In addition to the 1.25 hectare fuel site, MAB intend to promote the site to other business looking for premium exposure through building opportunities and a small select number of land sales of 1,000 to 3,500 square metres.

“MAB are looking for 2-3 building opportunities for clients requiring a high profile location with premium facilities from 1000 square metres upwards.

“A variety of businesses have already shown eager interest to secure a limited and rare opportunity to locate their premises where they are able to capitalise on the huge exposure and excellent access 12-62 Cook Street has to offer,” he concluded.

The site is located in the business/industrial hub of Port Melbourne, just three kilometres west of Melbourne’s CBD and has direct connections to the Westgate Freeway.

The property has the potential to suit a number of uses and is highly appealing to fast food, showroom, and petrol and convenience businesses, as well as traditional hi-tech city fringe businesses.

Jones Lang LaSalle directors Lincoln Reynolds and Ashley Buller negotiated the deal and will start marketing the project formally on MAB’s behalf in the new year.
